We pulled it off!

Well, despite some last minute scrambling, we managed to pull the whole thing off!  Thanks to everyone that came and all the folks who helped out.  Couldn't have done it without you!
We haven't gotten photos from our photographer yet, but I'll post some here when we do.  In the meantime, there are plenty of them floating around facebook.
Also, you can keep up with our normal day-to-day stuff right HERE.

Directions to Wedding

Ok, as you probably know by now, our original wedding venue got flooded out.  We drove by there today and it is indeed a total mess, not to mention the towns of Waterbury and Waitsfield.  The new venue is The Round Barn.  The address is: 1661 East Warren Road, Waitsfield, Vermont.
Directions to get there would be pretty straightforward, however there are several bridges and roads washed out in the area, so don't necessarily believe your GPS,Google Maps, or Smart Phone... This also applies to getting to lodging in Waitsfield.  Bear with me...
Directions from I-89 north (for all you folks coming up from Massachusetts) will probably tell you to take Exit 9 (Moretown/Middlesex).  However, the road from Moretown to Waitsfield (Rt. 100B) is impassible, so continue on I-89N to Exit 10 (Waterbury/Stowe).  This will get you on Rt. 100 South, which is fine all the way to Waitsfield.  From Rt. 100, most of the different lodging places should be accessible as normal, so follow whatever directions you would have normally taken.

To get to the Round Barn, the shortest route from town has a bridge out, so here are the alternative directions (If you're starting in Waitsfield, skip down to the turn onto Tremblay Road):
- I-89 N to Exit 10 (Waterbury/Stowe)
- Turn Left onto Rt. 100 South
- Turn Left again to follow Rt. 100 S (Main Street) into Waterbury
- Follow Rt. 100 South (Main street) for 1.3 miles until you cross over the Winooski River.  Shortly after crossing the river, turn Right to follow Rt. 100 South for 10 miles (You will make a right at the intersection with 100B after 7 miles, but this is the only way you can go)
- Turn Left onto Tremblay Road (you will see the bridge it crosses before you see the sign)
- Follow Tremblay Road 0.8 miles then:
- Turn Right onto North Road (dirt)
- Follow North Road for 1 mile then:
- Turn Left on Common Road (dirt).  This intersection snuck up on me when I drove it, so pay attention.
- Follow Common Road for 2.6 miles and then:
- Turn Right onto East Warren Road (paved)
- Follow E Warren Road about a mile, and you'll see the Round Barn on your Right.
* Parking will be beyond the barn (downhill) about 100 yards on the right.  There should be someone there to guide you.
Alternatively, here's the same thing in Google Map format:

For you folks staying at the various Inns and B&B's in and around Waitsfield, you can probably ask the folks there how to get to the Round Barn, it's a well known place.  You can also Head North (or south, whichever applies) on Rt. 100 to Tremblay Road, and follow the directions from there.
For those of us who were displaced from staying at the Lareau Farm, I'll have directions for you as well.

See you all soon!

RSVP

Hi there folks.  I've gotten the impression that no one seems to have found this site, despite it being on the "Save the Date" cards.  Oh well... Just a reminder to send us your RSVP by August 15th (or otherwise let us know) so we can get a final head count.  Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!

Wedding Shower

Wow, it's like Christmas all over again, only better!  Chrissy just got back from her wedding shower down in Mass, and she came back with a truckload of really awesome stuff for the house.  We're going to have to have a yard sale to make room for all this nice stuff, but it sure is nice to have some quality cooking stuff instead of the cheap stuff we've accumulated over the years.  I wasn't able (or allowed?) to attend, but I wanted to thank all of you for the nice things.  Thank you so much!
Here's a picture of the action...

Lodging Updates

By now, many of you have gotten your save-the-date cards directing you to this website.  Welcome!  Most of our immediate family will be staying at the Lareau Farm Inn.  Chrissy or I should have notified you about that.   We've also blocked out the Featherbed Inn (see link at left) which has 10 rooms and is within walking distance.  If you'd like to stay there, call them up and tell them you're with our wedding party.  The Millbrook Inn is the next closest spot (1.5 miles or so).  We haven't reserved any other rooms, so I encourage you to get on the ball.  It's a holiday weekend, so places will probably fill up quickly.

Lodging Situation

Hello everyone, we hope you'll be able to make it up to Vermont to celebrate!  We are very much looking forward to seeing everyone.  Here's a little information about the lodging situation...
There is quite a lot of lodging in Waitsfield, mainly in the form of "country inns" and B&B's.  All of these places also seem to do weddings, so they might fill up fast.  Factor in that it's a holiday weekend, and I'm sure they'll fill up even faster with normal folks.  So don't put off finding a place to stay until the last minute.  The Feather Bed Inn is within walking distance from the Lareau Farm Inn, where the wedding will take place.  The other places in Waitsfield (listed to the left) are all within a few minutes drive of the wedding venue.  The town of Warren is about 10 minutes to the south.  The town of Waterbury (with the only chain hotel nearby, a Best Western) is about 25 minutes north.  Stowe (where we live) is about 45 minutes to the north.  There is also a campground in Duxbury, about 15 minutes away, and some state parks not too far away if you want to get really rustic.
Have a look at the links to the left.  That is most of the nearby lodging places, but not all of them.  Leave me a comment if you're having difficulty, and I'll see what I can do.

Howdy!

Chrissy and I in Jamaica, January 2011.

We're getting married September 4th, 2011 at the Lareau Farm Inn in Waitsfield, Vermont.  It's a nice, laid-back, scenic little spot.  Plenty of space to run around and play games, a river that runs right by it for swimming if you feel inclined, lots of nearby lodging, and a great spot to have a big party!

Keep checking here (and the links on the sides) for more information.  We can't wait to see you there!
